Rappleyea caught 20 passes for 180 yards and three touchdowns in 2025. He had five catches for 47 yards through Buffalo in 2026, then added five for 36 yards at Northwestern on October 2.
Andrew Rappleyea is a redshirt-junior tight end who has supplied Penn State with receiving production across multiple seasons. He played 13 games and started eight in 2025, catching 20 passes for 180 yards and three touchdowns. His 11-yard score against Clemson in the Pinstripe Bowl closed that season with a substantial postseason contribution.
In Penn State’s first three 2026 games, Rappleyea made five catches for 47 yards and a touchdown. He scored on a three-yard reception against Buffalo. His availability was a question before Wisconsin, but the later Northwestern game provides a firmer participation point: he caught five passes for 36 yards there, tying his career high in receptions.
Rappleyea’s recent catches support a real passing-game role alongside Benjamin Brahmer and Gabe Burkle, rather than a presumed fixed tight-end order. The Northwestern appearance establishes that he played on October 2, but it does not guarantee a particular snap count or health status for the next game.
