OFFENSE

Quarterbacks

Analyst Note:The 2026 quarterback room is defined by the arrival of transfer Rocco Becht, who reunites with his former head coach Matt Campbell. With Drew Allar off to the NFL and Ethan Grunkemeyer transferring to Virginia Tech, Becht steps in as the unquestioned starter. His familiarity with the system provides a level of stability rare for a transition year. Redshirt senior Beau Pribula remains a high-value asset in 'Red Box' packages.

Running Backs

Analyst Note:With Nick Singleton declaring for the NFL Draft, the backfield now belongs entirely to all-time leading rusher Kaytron Allen. The 'Fatman' returns for his senior season as the focal point of the offense. Depth behind him is young, with several 2025 recruits expected to compete for the RB2 role immediately.

DEFENSE

Defensive Line

Analyst Note:The departures of Abdul Carter and Dani Dennis-Sutton to the NFL leave massive shoes to fill. However, the emergence of sophomore Max Granville—who flashed elite bend off the edge late in 2025—provides optimism. The interior line gets a boost from Utah transfer Dallas Vakalahi, adding much-needed size against the run.

Secondary

Analyst Note:This is arguably the deepest unit on the team. Zion Tracy returns as a proven shutdown nickel corner, and the safety roam is patrol by veterans. With a new defensive coordinator emphasizing aggressive man-coverage, expect this group to be the strength of the 2026 defense.
