Bacon made 68 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss at Iowa State in 2025. His first three Penn State games in 2026 produced 12 tackles and four tackles for loss; later participation is not established by that dated log.
Caleb Bacon transferred from Iowa State to Penn State after a 2025 season in which he captained the Cyclones, started all 12 games and made 68 tackles. His 9.5 tackles for loss and three sacks that year established a recent college pass-rush record, following a 2024 season cut short by injury.
In Penn State’s first three 2026 games, Bacon appeared three times and recorded 12 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack and a forced fumble. Six of those tackles and three tackles for loss came against Marshall, earning him Big Ten co-defensive player of the week recognition. The production shows an early contribution to the new defense, not just a transfer résumé.
Penn State’s available player biography does not extend his individual game log past Buffalo. That limits what can be concluded about later game participation or his exact position in the USC rotation. His documented early-season production can be stated confidently without assigning a future availability status.
