Dixson recorded 24 tackles and six pass breakups as a freshman in 2025. He intercepted a pass against Wisconsin in 2026 and assisted on a tackle for loss at Northwestern on October 2.
Daryus Dixson entered 2026 after a substantial freshman season in Penn State’s secondary. He played all 13 games in 2025, started twice and recorded 24 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and six pass breakups. That season supplies more context than a recruiting ranking alone.
Penn State’s player biography credits him with a start and three solo tackles against Marshall to open 2026. The team’s Wisconsin recap documents his interception and return to the Badgers’ 11-yard line; its Northwestern postgame notes credit him with an assisted tackle for loss. These later plays show continued involvement even though the player biography’s season summary had not incorporated them.
Dixson was described as a game-time decision before Northwestern, but the official postgame note confirms that he participated. His exact future snap count and USC availability remain separate questions. The verified takeaway and tackle-for-loss plays should not be stretched into a fixed cornerback ranking.
